Title: dvd drive not recognized

I have Win XP sp2 notebook and it doesn't "see" my Memorex DVD burner(made by NEC) Its worked great before on various setups. Burning software "sees" the OEM drive, but not the Memorex that's in a USB box.  Please help me..... ???

I assume it's an eternal drive?

Did it work at one point on this computer?

perhaps the USB drivers?
