Title: Computer Tries to Turn on by Itself
Post by: tgpitch16 on March 26, 2008, 06:53:49 PM
I recently installed an internal media reader and had to reformat my hard drive (don't ask...). When I set everything back up, everything works fine, however, when the computer is off, it tries to boot back up by itself? You hear the drives (CD and hard drive) get power, lights go on, on the tower, and 3 seconds later, it shuts off. It sporadically does this. Any ideas?

Check in BIOS, if you have Wake on LAN enabled.

Look at the power mamagment area of the BIOS and set it to manual.

You could also ask around to see if anyone can perform a exorcism! Ok just kidding about the last part....

Some malwares can cause it, as well. How is your computer security?
