Title: Monitor problem, please help.

I'm having a strange problem with my monitor. I was running my resolution at 1280 by 1024 for the last 14 days without incident. Then yesterday I upgraded my anti-virus software, AVG Free, and I had to reboot. When it came back up the resolution was back at 1152 by 864, and when I tried to set it back up to my higher resolution my monitor flashed "Sync out of range" and refused to change. Any ideas why, or how to fix it? My graphics card is brand new.

try unplugging your monitor for a minute or so and then try it again. Sometimes these things just need a reboot.
