Title: LOW MEMORY. when the problem started

When I am on my copmuter I keep receiving a message telling me that my computer is low on memory and to close all open programs to restore some memory. I then close all programs and still have the same problem. I have also deleted many files and unnecessary programs to make extra space and that hasn't worked either. Now I don't know what else to try. It's an Acer laptop running on Windows Vista, Intel Core Duo Processor T5450, 2GB DDR2. I had downloaded Google Earth when the problem started. I erased it and it still gives me the same problem. What should I do?
