Title: Computer won't let me log back into Windows

My computer was working fine, then I shut it off, and when I turned it
back on, it takes me to a screen that says "press DEL to run setup" "Press Tab to display BIOS POST message"

If I dont press anything the screen goes black and a curser sits there blinking on and off.
If I hit the TAB key it takes me to a DOS like setup (I think?)

I did hookup a new (wireless) mouse and keyboard erlier, could this maybe be the problem?

Yes this could be the problem. Try hooking up the old keyboard and mouse. Your new devices should have come with a disk. If you can get back into windows with your old keyboard and mouse then run the disk and install the software for the new ones. Now try to shut down and reconnect your new devices.
I'm not sure if this will work but it is worth a shot.

Thanks jj, i tried it but unfortunately it didn't work.
I'm sure that's what it is though because it did come with a disk that I didn't load.

this is the startup messages that the bios displays. look for any messages regarding the mouse and keyboard. it might say something about them not being there. on some bios's the computer will not start without a working keyboard and mouse attached

Also...make sure your computer is turned off when adding/removing any peripherals.

Turn your computer off.

Re-attach your old keyboard and mouse.

Turn computer on.

Install new mouse/keyboard software.

Shut down computer.

Attach new mouse/keyboard.

Turn computer back on.

Yeah, unfortunately it wasn't my keyboard my actual motherboard got fried. (maybe power surge)
Was time to get a new one anyway.
