Title: Smooth Scrolling
Post by: Fred8 on May 28, 2008, 10:42:01 AM
Hi,  I'm a new member, and I need assistance quickly.

The comp. is set for smooth scrolling but it doesn't seem to work.
When I watch films or vids, it's very jerky.

Hope someone can help me A.S.A.P.
Regards.
Fred

Fred,

In the computer world scrolling usually means that you are using the sliding bar at the top bottom or side of the programme screen, or you are using the middle scroll button on your mouse.

I am confused by your problem description, and I think I need more information... to back up Patio there, can you post more info?

Manmy thanks for your reply, but I wasn't very good in my explanation.

When you go to scroll down a page, it scrols in sequences, and when watching vids or films, it's very jerky, which I should have realised that it is the refresh rate that needs adjusting.

Smooth scrolling has NOTHING  to do with videos.

If your videos are choppy, use patio's link.

No,
If I go into 'Display', click on settings, then on 'Advanced', then click on the Monitor tab at the top, the refresh rate section is faded, and won't allow me to check the box or change the rate.

1) Update your video drivers.
2) Brand name of your monitor?  It may not support other refresh rate options.
3) Is your monitor connected directly to your PC or is it connected through something else (i.e.: a KVM switch, a Media Center extender, etc.)?
