Iam using sony head phones and i stick them in each jack but the sound is not working i need help. It used to work a couple of days ago i checked to see if mute or sound was very low but thats the problem i need help please

Do your speakers work? If so...do your speakers have a headphone jack? Try using that, instead of plugging directly into the sound card on the computer.
If your speakers work, then we can eliminate the sound card as suspect.

I dont have speakers they broke along time ago

I'm hoping you had the computer turned off while you were plugging and unplugging your headphones from the different jacks.
Assuming you are using Windows XP try this:
1. Click Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices
2. When the Sounds and Audio Devices window opens, make sure you are on the Volume tab.
3. Click the Advaced button under Speaker settings.
4. From the Speaker tab, select Stereo headphones from the Speaker setup: box.
5. Click the OK button...all the way out...until your back to the Control Panel.
6. Close the Control Panel.
7. Shut down the computer...and plug your headhones into the speaker jack of the sound card...or in the speaker jack (if you have one) on the front of your PC.
8. Turn the computer back on to test your sound.

Are you able to borrow another set of headphones or some speakers to try?
-
Can you test your headphones on other audio device?
And also, have you installed software/hardware lately prior to this?
-
No i havent installed any software and i dont have any extra head phones to borrow i will buy some new ones i guess

Have you tried your headphones using another electronic device...as suggested above? Like a radio, stereo, etc...???
