Title: MS Word merge field for date
Post by: CindyM on June 10, 2008, 08:40:44 AM
Is there a way to insert a date merge field where the date is spelled out (June 10, 2008) and will not change if the document is reopened, resaved, modified, etc?   ???

Thanks for any help!

I'm not quite sure I understand the question, but depending on the Word document...you can use the "Insert" link from Word's toolbar to insert the date into a document...formatted to your liking.

Once the document is saved...the date will always appear as you have set it.

On another note...

As long as you don't set the date to update automatically...it will remain the same.  So if you use the Insert/Date & Time function...say for today's date...and do not check the box to have it update automatically...save the document...and open it tomorrow...it will show today's date.
