Title: surfing in college.

well guys i right now sitting in my coll lab. it has amazing internet speed :o
i cannot install anything here cos i don't have the required previlages.....
i was tryn to download a torrent file directly from the net using     http://www.bitlet.org/ but it shows that i don't have java plugin's when i try to download them from the java site it says to click on the activex control (that yello line on the top of the screen) but i don't see any thing on the browser........
the os is win xp sp2

Seems quite obvious, certain features are disabled on those college lab computers. Clearly, you have no business downloading and installing software on them.

well dude i was not asking about how to download the torrent file........
my question was about the activex thing 8)

If the Lab IT guys have 1/2 a brain ActiveX is probably locked down completely...

my lab IT guys have 1/10 of a brain and still they have completly locked down Activex.......

Eh, you still need a reality check, it seems.  Locking down Activex in a computer lab that's used by many students for many purposes is not dumb.  I don't know how smart the IT guys there are, but locking down Activex in such an environment looks smart, not dumb.

Trying to and actually finding a way to get around set security is a good way to get in big trouble. It's best to follow the rules and play on your own time, not theirs.

Do you actually think they aren't logging and/or can't see what your doing?
