Title: windows 2000 networking

i am using windows xp on 2 of my computers and have a wireless network on my laptop i have windows 2000 and am using a wireless network adapter mn-720 my laptop sees and recognizes my adapter but keeps saying network cable is unpluged i have tried all that i can think of please help me
