Title: Outlook express linking problem
Post by: 65cobra on September 11, 2008, 09:09:24 AM
I recently installed and then removed IE7 since then the links in my received emails do not work it just opens a blank IE window.  How do I fix this?

What do you mean you removed IE7? You can't do this... It is a part of Windows....

I was previously using IE 6.0  I then updated to IE 7.  I did not like it at all so I deleted it with the add remove programs list and it reverted back to IE 6.0, which I am currently using.

Okay, then.

So what email provider is it? MSN? Yahoo?

Its a small local ISP, I get the emails fine, I just have to copy the link and paste it in the browser where before I could just click on it.

Even the one that came from this forum won't connect, its just the URL thats blue in color, I click on it, a browser window opens but it stays blank, address bar and screen.

None of the links in emails work, from costco, to travelocity to computer hope.  While I am in the web browser all links work like normal.

The problem is only when I click on a link inside the email, it does not matter who it is from.

Amazon, and costco and many others use links within an email to show a picture those pictures all show up but when i click on them they don't link up to the page they are advertising, it just goes to a blank IE window.

I'd say that is a problem with your ISP's email system. I think you should contact them about it.

What's the name of the company? I'll do a search...
