Theres a disease going around.Looks a bit like the Resident Evil series, doesn't it?
and youre like last of the survivors theres zombies.
LoZ isnt a RPG, is it?
So, when I play Quake 4, I'm roleplaying, since I'm playing the role of Matthew Kane? Of course not, that's a FPS.

RPG stands for "Role Playing Game". In Zelda, you play the Role of Link and it is a game, case closed.
Diablo is ugly ;D
I recently joined 'lord of legends' but its boring!
The best RPG of all time is Final Fantasy 7. Hands down. The storyline is deep, the music really controls the mood of the game, the graphics are decent, the dialogue is interesting to read, and the gameplay is very fun.
Chrono Trigger.
1. Final Fantasy Tactics
2. Diablo
3. Fable 2
4. Mass Effect
5. Legend of Dragoon
Chrono Trigger Definitely.
In my opinion, an RPG, is a game where at certain points in the game, you can pretty much travel all over the world/map/kingdom, and do what ever you desire, before you want to go to the place to proceed in the storyline. Also, upgrading items/stats, and maybe changing party members or whatever, depends on game.
Chrono Trigger is the definition of RPG, along with other games. CT is such an amazing game, I've played it 30 times over, and still don't get tired of it. I play it on my computer with the ZSNES Emulator. It's pretty freaking awesome.
The game has an amazing storyline, awesome characters, cool battle-style, and much much more.
It also has a cool feature, where if you beat the game, you have the option of starting a new game with all the old items and stats. Some people may think this cheap... but you could always sell/throw the items away. It also has like 13 different endings or something, so you can always try to find everyone :D
If you are looking for a really good RPG to play, definitely play Chrono Trigger, hands down.
EDIT: Also, the Legend of Zelda series, has always been my favourite series. Can't say I've played/beaten every single game, 'cause I don't have all the systems, but from what I have played, it's been a solid good run.
The Final Fantasy series is definitely my 2nd choice. My favourite is FF VI or FF III, can't remember which one is the better one... one of them has like another character or something. But anyway, that game is freaking awesome
honestly, I've never been too fond of the Final fantasy series. I have absolutely no rhyme or reason either.same here, never understood the storyline.
Although I am slowly playing through FF2 and FF3 on the SNES. Very slowly. Not because I suck, but because I don't play it often ;)
I was tempted at one point to respond to this thread with, "the one from Duke nukem 3d" but people would get confused I think...

I don't know what genre LoZ is, because I haven't played it, but I can say this: An RPG is any game with "stats", "levels", weapons with numbered bonuses on them, things like that.
No one cares for Aries she isnt all that great cause you can use her and she dies when you get the meteria.
yep, but I mean that he's useing the same avatar and I have a rep with it.

Are there any good free online RPG Games?

??? okay. wait macdad were you at?
whereas other RTS games such as C&C and AOE, actually need to create something that makes sense in the context.
I've never really liked any Warcraft game. The whole fantasy aspect just falls apart in a RTS setting, since the rules don't necessarily need to follow logic.
"ok, what's strong against Fire Monger-Wood-Nymphs"?
"hmm- well, let's make a new unit, the WaterFall Super Pixie."
"Cool, that was easy."

3. Chrono TriggerChrono Trigger is one of my all time favourites. Heck, I even got the actual game off ebay instead of just playing it through emulation.
4. The Legend Of Zelda: The Adventure Of Link (did you know there are 14 Zelda games!)yep! that's one of the shunned ones, but it's one of the greatest as well. it mixes RPG and action at least as good, of not better then it's predecessor, and maybe it's successor (Link to the past... (unless you count Links awakening)).
Especially because people are mentioning RPG elements and I have to make an RPG game in XNA & C# as my college final.
I "grew out of" consoles (translation: my mother sold them >:( ))LMAOLMAOLMAO =P
Nuts.. I just cheked my snes9x emulator and I'm actually playing The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the past. =P
I like this game so much! .. even though I've just started playing a Zelda game for the first time in my life, because.. I've Googled top 25 SNES games =P lol! I remember that it was printed on the back of my original SNES box!
