What Operating System?
In Task Manager, can you start a process called explorer.exe and see what happens?
-
that doesnt work either it says its not a explorer.exe
-
What's the error message?
-
I have to get back with you to tell you exactly what it says but it says something to the effect that it cant open it because it doesnt exist, i want to use like a virus cleaner but i dont know how im going to do it
-
All right.
Can you get into Windows via Safe Mode (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm)?
If so, I would start with our Virus Cleanup:

Use Safe Mode With Networking
-
Hows it going this morning, I tried to open it using safe mode with networking but I still only got a black screen with safe mode on the corners. And when i used ctrl alt del and tried to open explorer.exe it said windows cannot find.......... The crazy thing is is that I can still open itunes and it worked fine even syncing my ipod worked fine. I also opened avg 7.5 and ran it and it picked up a trojan horse downloader.purityscan.Z which it deleted and WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and it said it changed that. What else can I do because I would really like to have my icons and start menu back.
thanks

Mind you that Chrome is still in Beta.
If you were to suggest a browser, Firefox is the way to go ;)
