Title: I can't get out of safe mode-tried everything
Post by: teddy2 on October 01, 2008, 09:36:01 PM
For some reason, when I logged on the other night, my computer went into safe mode. I re-booted, and still came up the same. I called my bro-in-law(who is a computer genius) and tried what he said, but I am stuck in safe mode. Have seriously thought about getting another computer, but if the problem can be corrected, I would rather not. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!!

Hey Try this

1) boot up in safe mode
2)bring up taskmgr (alt/ctl/del)
3)Select file: either use the browse button to get to this path  and double click on msconfig.exe or   type the entire path in by hand ->C:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\msconfig.exe

4)This will bring you back to msconfig screen.
5) From there you can select the boot.ini tab and unselect the /SAFEBOOT check box.
6) Restart your PC and lets see, hope this works!
