I wonder why this keeps happening, I need these software!
Thankyou
I'm using windows xp pro, Firefox for browser, Comodo for firewall and AVG for antivirus!

What OS?

Its not just the dreamweaver prog, its the visual basic too, anyway dreamweaver was trial, visual basic was not.
-
Give us the link to where you're downloading this software from, please.
-
There's no problem with VB, is there?
I installed a Dreamweaver trial before and the same thing happened...
Have you tried a (very, very long) reinstall?

Answer:I have been downloading some software and like Dreamweaver and Visual Basic etc,
Its not just the dreamweaver prog, its the visual basic too

This download is not compatible with your operating system, Ivy.
That's why you're getting the error from Windows about Dreamweaver encountering an error and having to shut down.
-
It was exactly this (http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/dreamweaver-free.html) link, I just remembered the name ''brothersoft'' and googled it up just now and gave you a link in a hurry!
It was one of dreamweavers given in the link that I downloaded...
What about Visual Basic?
-
This (http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/dreamweaver-2.html) page to be precise.
-
Like I said...that version of Dreamweaver is not compatible with your operating system.
Now provide me with the link to Visual Basic you were using, please.

I found this place, will This (http://www.download.com/Visual-Basic-5-0-Runtime-Module/3000-2070_4-10009051.html) be okay, it says nothing about compatibility though, I wonder what the best places would be to download Visual Basic and Dreamweaver for free.
-
Visual Basic http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/
-
I'm not sure which one is for site building.
This page has more info on what is used for what... http://www.microsoft.com/express/interest/default.aspx

I will look around and search for the most suitable for my requirement(web browser designing).
I will find it and let you know of the results, thankyou Evil!
-
Do you need Dreamweaver for designing a browser? I thought it would be written in C or C++...
Why don't you download the trial of Dreamweaver from Adobe?
-

Yes!
I'm actually looking around , I ordered dreamweaver yesterday, I'm waiting for the response, sorry I didn't reply, Thought I'd let it come first.
-
You ordered it? LOL there goes $400.... ;D
-
Okay , its been 5 days, I ordered that dreamweaver thing and they said they'd email me but no email!
Now a friend of mine suggested NVU, but then I found that NVU had bug problems and I could not get Nvu, since it had been removed from the repositories , I researched a little on it (actually for 4 hours) , and finally found this (http://www.kompozer.net/) Kompozer is supposed to be easy to use and had WYSIWYG editor seen in Nvu.
Here's the trouble,I downloaded from the first Link (http://www.kompozer.net/download.php) from the website, but on extracting the files , something goes wrong, and then when I try to run the program I get this message(screenshot attachment).
Anybody has any Ideas at all??
Thanks for the help!

"Re-installing the application may fix this problem". Did you?
-
Yeah I did, Didn't help!
Anyway I'm downloading Coffeecup later!
Lets see how it goes!
I'll keep ya posted :)

I should have specifically warned you away from Nvu, but that's why I didn't recommend it. Let me know what you think of Kompozer. I've never used it.
-
I downloaded Kompozer, but on extracting the files , something goes wrong, and then when I try to run the program I get this message(screenshot attachment in my above post).
Thats why now I'm downloading Coffeecup (http://www.coffeecup.com/free-editor/download.php?getFile) now
-
Okay the download is complete, but I'm not able to find a tutorial for Coffeecup!!
I searched a lot for it, I googled it but no good!
What am I to do?
-
Ok just forget it, I'll go the harder way, what I've been avoiding...Notepad!!
I'll just simply write my codes in notepad.
but I'll keep you guys posted about how my pages are comin through.
Cheers!

The right choice, IMO. If you want to be a professional web designer, you'd be better off writing the code yourself.
If you're stuck with anything, don't forget W3Schools (http://www.w3schools.com/).

Hold on, Visual Basic .NET is not Visual Basic...
I imagine the VB 5 link was the Control Creation Edition.
What did you want to use VB5 for, Ivy?
