Post by: pang on March 25, 2005, 09:19:00 AM
I connect to the internet using a gsm motorola c333, gprs enabled cell phone. Even though I have usb 2.0 on my computer the connection is so slow.

Can you guys suggest a way i can speed up my connection? :(

How fast is it supposed to be?
I seen cell phones connect at 14.4 and wireless air cards connect at 144.

The speed of my gprs connection should be about 115kbps but sometimes use my friends computer which uses a 56K dialup modem and it seems to load webpages faster than my phone connection.

By the way is there a way i can find out the actual data transfer speed of my connection?

115Kbps is basically the maximum speed, the actual speed is very dependant on signal strength and tons of other items between you and the website you are viewing.

There are many bandwidth speed testing sites out on the Internet, here is just one......

So your saying that nothing i can do will improve the speed of my connection. It depends on my ISP.
