Title: Will This Mobo, RAM, & CPU work together?
Post by: Bub5000 on November 15, 2008, 07:12:12 PM
Our family computer went out completely recently, and we need a new motherboard and CPU. I picked out some parts, but I wanted to make absolutely sure they will work together and be the best deal before I buy them. It needs to be around $200.

Motherboard: http://www.ewiz.com/desc.php?name=MB-IP-95
CPU: http://www.ewiz.com/desc.php?name=E7300BOX
CPU Fan: http://www.ewiz.com/desc.php?name=FAN-AC7PRO

I like the motherboard because it supports the RAM that was in our computer that broke (2GB PC3200) and seems to be very upgradable since it supports a lot of things. Would I be better off just getting new RAM?

yes they should work together just fine. Just make sure you put thermal paste between the cpu and heatsink

Well those parts should work together without a hitch. If this is a big upgrade from your other computer you may also want to check to make sure your power supply is up to snuff.  I'd be suprised if it wasn't but it never hurts to check.  Wouldn't want to buy these parts and have a psu go bad on them.

Edit: Right before i hit post brett beat me to it

To add to the other comments, that CPU cooler is great, I have the same one.  However, do you need an aftermarket cooler?  That CPU comes with a cooler.
The motherboard will most likely need a BIOS flash to work with that CPU - read the motherboard manual carefully before attempting it, or you may end up with an expensive paperweight.  Therefore, you'll also need a CPU which was supported from the get-go on that board to attempt the flash.

Hope this helps.
