Title: updating drivers

Hi I've just bought a new monitor. I am having a problem with the pixel resolution. The monitor is recommending 1440 x900 but this is not an option on my computer it seems to be 1280 x 1024 max.
at this resoluton it's a little fuzzy.. can I make this clearer..
I have tried to update a driver for this problem, but finding it difficult..  I seem to be directed to driver detective all the time
The computer is a packard bell imedia 1437 and the  card i am trying to update is Via/S3G unichrome pro 1gp 
could you please help
