On my desktop, after I've typed in my password and it goes to a blue screen and then just sits there it wont load anything. Is this a virus or is my computer dying? And i cant get on to run any scans or anything, please help!
Now its going to the default screen but it wont load any icons or the task bar. Any ideas?

a blue screen with no words on it?
YES. How much easier has it got to be?
What type of computer have you? Make/model...
-
when at the Blue screen, does Ctrl-Alt-Delete do anything? If you can bring up task manager, you could attempt to launch "Explorer.exe" from file->New Task...
a blue screen with no words on it?
This isn't a BSOD. it's the logon desktop background, which is blue by default.

i have had a ble screen with no words on it before though...

that wasn't a BSOD either. all BSOD's have text... although sometimes they are missing the details such as the driver that caused the fault or the address and bugcheck arguments.
-
then what was it?

then what was it?
how should I know? you're the one that had this supposed text-less BSOD.
For all I know it could have been a screensaver, and the keyboard got unplugged.
-
definitally not a screen saver im telling you it was a bsod with no words!(same exact color and everything with noo words!)

the computer froze completely while attempting to display the BSOD perhaps, but it wasn't the full BSOD in any case.
Unless of course this was with a 9x/ME system, which used a completely different mechanism for showing it's Blue screen errors.

ooo so igot a 1/2 bsod with just a blue screen then ok i see

or you were starting windows NT and a post-it was covering the message shown at the top of the screen.
