Title: Monitor displays a white screen when starting my computer and it stays that way

A few days ago, I had a power bump at my house. The next day I tried to start my computer and all I get is a bright white screen on my monitor. I tried my monitor on another computer and it works fine. Does anyone have some information to help me with this problem. Thanks

Does the computer seem like there is any activity at boot...Hard drive activity etc? Might be a blown video card if the system seems like it is booting up and all you see if white screen with no splash screen that says the manufacturers name like HP etc. If this system doesnt have a video card if it is integrated, you can install a video card and see if you get different results.

Yes, it does sound as if the hard drive is being accessed, but the monitor just stays white, no change at all.
