Post by: nincompoop on January 13, 2009, 08:58:40 PM
hi,
i've just formatted my laptop and use a Win XP sp2 OS,.

i cannot install my HD audio driver and HDA modem driver even i got these drivers from the lenovo support website. i have read the install guideline and state that i must have QFE installer to let the Soundmax Audio Driver be installed.

Where can i get the QFE installer so i can install my Audio Driver.

PLEASE HELP!

What model is your computer?
If there is a service tag number, can you please post it as well.

If you go to Device Manager, can you list any items with a Yellow Question or Exclamation mark.

Some drivers (especially on laptops) will not install until the chipset drivers are properly installed as they rely on each other...did you reinstall the chipset drivers ? ?
Laptops ship with a Driver CD and everything you need should be on there.

Also...how exactly do you install those drivers. Many .exe files, you download from Lenovo, when you run them, they simply unzip. Then, you have to run "setup.exe" from unzipped folder.
