First, let's say that no, it is not possible to go back a day in your system memory and restore files ???
Windows XP System Restore is primarily used for restoring configurations that have been corrupted and prevent your PC from starting/running correctly. :(
What you need is a utility like Recuva (http://www.recuva.com/) to scan your hard disk for deleted/corrupted files and then restore them. ;D
Thanks and good luck.

Did you delete a photo? It would still be in the recycle unless you are one of the people who have the bad habit of throwing out the trash compulsively. :'(

I have a music program that I run a live events that I do...for some reason all the music is gone and I wanted to do a system restore....I have done it before and can't remember how....

As gold said, System Restore will NOT restore non-system file.
