I have an HPd530 cmt motherboard that has max cap of 4gb for RAM. I installed 1gb, it worked; when i tried to install 2gb, i get the 3 beeps, and it wont start. Both RAM sticks are the same. I tested each stick and with each one alone the computer will start, but with both installed together it wont. I've tried clearing BIOS, didnt work;
What else can i do to get my computer to use 2gb?
Thanks,
Carla

How are the sticks installed ? ?
How many RAM slots...2 or 4 ? ?
Have you consulted the MBoard manual ? ?

First travel to Crucial.com and run the online scanner to see if the RAM is supported by your MBoard...
2nd consult your MBoard manual to see if there are any changes neccessary in the BIOS to support the RAM...
