ABDULSALAM,

Thanks

"Ping" refers to the delay between you and another computer, this case the server. It is measured in milliseconds.
ping is a measure of "lag," measuring the return response time from another IP address, in milliseconds.
In simple words, the lesser the lag the better it is for your connection.
Hope that helps.

Thank you very much
for answering my
quetion
and i'll try
to correct that
-
you're welcome,
I think by saying 'to correct that' you mean to improve your connection , but for that you will have to know the reasons why your internet is lagging etc
Best of luck

You can read more about PING (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping)
Ivy is young and beautiful. I am not so young, and not so beautiful ;) -- I've been using ping a lot long than she.
Ivy is essentially correct, though ping is really about checking whether you have connections between computers and / or servers on a network.
That network can be a local area network or the Internet.
So, the primary idea is that if you ping an address or a server, you know you have a route or a connection to reach that server or computer -- you know it is online and functioning.
EDIT: I fixed the link. My apologies.

Aegis,
I think the link for the PING is not working.

We must be careful, here, my friend -- as this is a forum for computer help.
My declaration of Ivy is because of the person I've come to know from posts on the forum. I've not seen her picture, not do I need to see it.
You've also placed an e-mail address on an open forum -- an invitation to receive a whole bunch of e-mail, wanted or otherwise.
Or was it my email and picture you wanted? :)
