Title: Re-installing Internet Explorer
Post by: Greg on May 25, 2004, 11:44:51 AM
Thanks to some help from people on this site, I found out I could use Windows Explorer to access web pages since my Internet Explorer gives an error when it tries to open.

I've tried to re-install IE 6 from the Microsoft website but it never helps. I've also tried uninstalling IE beforehand, but it never appears to actually go away, if that makes sense. I use the 'remove programs" option and restart the computer, but all the icons are still there, etc. I wonder if I am not actually re-installing it when I try to.

Finally, when I use Windows Explorer on the Net, anytime I click on a link, it tries to open a  new page in Internet explorer and i get my error again. Is there a way to change that option? Can I tell my computer to open links in Windows Explorer or some other alternative?

When you hover your mouse over the link it should show you the destination on the bottom of your page.  Type that location into your address bar and off you go.

Thanks, I have been using the copy and paste functions with success. I guess I am trying to be lazier than that and get it to act like IE as much as possible.
