Title: how do i know if my computer was turn on?

im concerned someone is trying to use my computer, how can i know if my computer was turned on? is there some log or something somewhere that i can see, or a program i can use? i have a bios password so computer wouldnt make it to windows if turned on and no password is accepted.

Well, if you have a bios password you don't really have anything to worry about.  If you have to know wether it has been powered on, you can always dust it for fingerprints...

To be on the safe side i would change your BIOS password...if they have the current one which is unlikely changing it would make it even more difficult....

the event log will show times that the PC was started and shut down. In the "System" event log, items titled "Event Log" with "the event log service was started" indicate startup and of course "the event log service was shut down" indicates the PC was shut down (or crashed).

so would a log be filed for event even if windows dont start? say if computer was turned on and turned off before windows boots.
