Title: Laptop screen gone.. how to change setting for the VGA cable?

like the title says i have a laptop and the screen is gone.. doesnt work. but the laptop itself works.

Now, the only way i can connect it to a TV or another screen is via this cable (S Video Cable):

but i need to change this on properties, settings and select the second screen... but without the laptop screen working is there any other way i can do it?
btw i searched and i was told about the F5 or F6 and neither work..

it's a HP.. ima see the model later i dont remember and dont have it with me right now

almost all laptops, have a Fn key combination that will switch to the external display.

they usually have a picture of two screens over it... On mine I press Fn+F5 to switch too/from an external display.

yeh i tried that but no luck my F5 is something like this |[]|  the screen ochanging one is 2 [][]
