I'm not sure what had happened. After a format an reinstall a while back everything was okay. When I tried to watch a clip I noticed there wasnt any audio at all. I checked an got the most recent driver ofr it off the site. Its a dell demension 4100 win 2000 + sp 4
-
You reformatted? Try reinstalling ALL your drivers on the website.
-
also, don't forget to check that you got the speakers in the right jack.
-
I'm not installing uncessary drivers, it is an though that it was that at first but it wasnt.

Install ALL drivers that apply for your computer.
-
Install ALL drivers that apply for your computer.
Exactly, a chipset driver that you don't think applies may apply.
Also make sure that the Windows Audio service is enabled.
-
Never said that, I dont know if there is or not. Not sure if it is, I do know that the speaker didnt show in the task bar tray an had to tell it to be there. Its all right but still nothing.
-
Reinstall drivers.......or are you too busy for that?
-
I'm not going to do a reformatt when the machine has been working well for almost six mths. Its just one driver that I had put in the other day but still nothing.
-
Didn't you say you just did a reformat?
-
No one is asking you to reformat...
They are however asking that you re-install ALL your drivers.
-
Thats what he just said, I put in all the drivers that I had an updates. Thing is that there isnt any sound. Will try something dont think it will change.
-
My ONLY advice and my last post in this topic: You had reformatted - so you must reinstall all your drivers.
Good Luck.
-
Had past tense not recently. I tried a headset but no changes.
-
I don't understand why you consistently ask for advice and then ignore it or refuse to even try it...
-
cause I have done all that when I finshed the install. Its not me its everyone else that doesnt.
-
Then reinstall your drivers. -_-

As stated here squall even though you may not be aware of it if the chipset driver is not installed first it may botch up other driver installations.
There.....i'm done here now.
-
It works with out it. I dont know if there is or isnt, this is a dell not some that I had made. I never had issues before. I dont know the driver is there an it see's it.
-
Nevermind then...
I'm done here.
-
It works with out it.
So why did you make this post pretending otherwise?
-
I have a problem, but there is no problem. If I install problems, it may fix my problem but there is not problem to fix.
-
what ??? IUf your not will to help, keep these things to yourself. Cause I dont have an feed/audio from this machine. I install what I had an have the most recent updates for it. There isnt a chipset driver or what not. Should check the main site, but doubt they have the most resent............
-
You should buy a new sound card. Is your sound onboard?
-
You have chipset drivers for your computer. Do not install most recent drivers, just reinstall THE drivers.
what Huh? IUf your not will to help, keep these things to yourself.
If you don't want any help, stop trying to boost your post count and wasting our time.
Goodbye.
