I have successfully gotten Windows 3.1 to run with Windows 98 installed. I just have to restart in DOS mode. The only problem is that it will only run in standard mode. Whenever I try to run it in 386-enhanced mode, I get an error saying I have an incompatable version of DOS (I figured something like that would happen). Any ideas on how to fix this?

Where would you obtain Windows 3.1?

No no no no no... I had the Windows 3.1 disks and one day got brave enough to try to install it. I did, and it worked.

Windows 3.11 was a little bit more stable then Windows 3.1
Windows for Workgroups 3.11 won't work with Windows 98 (because it only runs in 386-enhanced mode) but Windows 3.11 will. There is little visible difference between Windows 3.1 and 3.11, in fact even the splash screen still says Windows 3.1

Much obliged. I am looking into ordering Windows 3.11 on 9 diskettes. See if I can get it to work as well.

Keep in mind that you can only install it with Windows 95 or 98. Anything newer than that doesn't support real mode DOS, Because Windows 3.x is more of a DOS shell than an OS. I have figured out the best way to get it to work, so just ask for instructions and I will give you some.
Good luck! :)

The boot disk image would have worked great if my hard drive weren't FAT32 :(
