Title: How to stop Data Execution Prevention Messages?
Post by: AVS004 on August 03, 2009, 10:14:18 PM
I asked this question earlier and nobody gave me a definite answer: After closing internet explorer I receive annoying messages from Data Execution Prevention and following them an error message. "This program encountered an error and needs to close..."
I tried going into data execution prevention and tried changing its settings many times but the messages still appear. Any ideas on how to get them to no appear? Windows XP, internet explorer 8 :(

1. Click Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select System
4. Click the Advanced tab
5. In the Performance region select Settings
6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
8. Click Add.
9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application.
10. Click Open
11. Click Apply
12. Click Ok
13. Reboot

Title: Re: How to stop Data Execution Prevention Messages?,New Problem IE error message

Thank you. I think I was able to stop DEP messages but now When I close Internet Explorer the following message appears "IE explorer has encountered error and needs to close...

In the details amongst other things it says,

Exception Information:
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000
Record:0x000000000000000000
Address:0x000000006501342e

System Information
Wndows NT 5.1 build: 2600
cpu vendor code756E6547  -  49656E69- 6C65746E

And other information

But I thnk the most important one is this:
The following files will be included in error report:
C:\DOCUME~1\HP_ADM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\69e6_appcompat.txt

What needs to be done to prevent this message from appearing?
