Title: Urgent Help Needed!

Please help, I do not have much time before my brother finds out I screwed his computer up and now It will not connect to the network, plus I get popups. I had uninstalled Mcafee and installed norton, and was once advised to use combofix. Now, when the computer shuts down, I get this: “svchost.exe error on shutdown. The instruction as "0x73d223b5" referenced memory at "0x73d223b5". The memory could not be "written"."

Tried system restore, will not work. Uninstalled norton, still same problem. Having same exact problem as here: http://forums.whatthetech.com/multiple_trojan_infestation_error_messages_boot_t105178.html&pid=581007&st=30

Please help!  I am running sfc\ scannow right now. However, if it asks for the Windows XP disk, I do not have one!
