Title: Beep Code/Video Card Error

I am getting the Long - Short - Short beep code which I believe to be my video card and I need some suggestions on how to fix it. I think what caused the problem was when i reformatted and started putting drivers back on the laptop, I must have downloaded the wrong video card driver off of the dell website.

I have a Dell inspiron 1501 laptop with windows xp.

a wrong driver would not cause a beep code
only the bios has beep codes
can you see anything at all on screen?
even if you didnt have a driver atleast you would see the bios

no, nothing comes up on the screen at all. I hit the power key and I get a short beep then long-short-short and then the long-short-short gets repeated over and over. Also I was downloading a bunch of things off of the Dell website so i may have downloaded the bios as well. I just kept downloading and installing things and when one finally asked me to reboot, the computer just never started back up
