Title: Cannot open links in IE7 pages.
Post by: Zuggy on October 19, 2009, 03:54:15 PM
I'm unable to download pages through links in my IE7 sites. Click the link, the window opens, the download starts, then stops, and the little yellow error icon appears in the lower left hand corner of the new page. This issue started on my companies' intranet portal-and just on a second link. I now have this issue with getting my links to download in every instance, including links in emails. (It's interesting that I was able to open the links in this site.) I'm running Windows XP with Office Pro added, and using IE7. I cannot upgrade to IE8, because the software for my business isn't compatible. I'm thinking I should get rid of IE7, which would automatically get me back to IE6, BUT, there is NO uninstall option for that software in Add/Remove programs. Just has the support info-and also says I haven't used it since Jan, 08! (Um, yesterday, dude!) OK, I read the topic here re: the person that couldn't open links in Firefox, but I couldn't follow that-sorry!
Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right path? If so, can I use Spuninst.exe to uninstall IE7? Should I?
I think I just confused myself.....

have you tried a browser reset? (internet options advanced tab-click reset)
and is your java up to date?
