Title: Computer wont read windows 7 disk
Post by: susan2 on October 31, 2009, 04:43:56 PM
I am running vista home premium. I tried upgrading to windows 7 my computer wont read either disk the 32 bit or 64. I have an inspiron 531 its about a year and a half old I have never reformated. I put in a very old disk of office 2000 and it was able to read it. If I reformated would this help resolve this issue

It needs to be a DVD drive...i suspect you may have only a CD drive.

Have you tried booting to the Windows 7 dvd or are you just trying it from within Windows? If you've only tried one, try the other just to make sure the disc and drive are okay.
