Title: update failed to install
Post by: lisashomeoffice on November 01, 2009, 04:39:45 PM
The yellow update button comes up every day and after it installs I get this message that says that not all files could be installed.  The yellow shield stays in the notification tray and doesn't get off.  Any ideas?  I run either spybot, adaware, avast everyday.

internet explorer 6
Windows xp
250 g
intel pentium 4
2.66 g
Cyber Power custom configured

Run Windows Update "manually" (control panel - windows update). If updated fail to install you can see why.

Change your Windows Automatic update setting to "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them"

You might consider updating your version of IE as well.
