Title: wireless problem?
Post by: aamna929 on December 10, 2009, 08:40:52 AM
Last night I was going on the internet just fine. Then I saw my son press the button to shut down the computer. When I turned the comp back on again, it wouldn't connect to the internet. It oddly doesn't detect any wireless networks. I have a wireless router set up on my desktop pc, and it appears to be working just fine because at the same time, my laptop computer is able to connect to my home network and connect to the internet just fine. I've tried all the vista diagnostic tools on my desktop and none of them helped. what can i do?

First step is to reset the router and the modem (disconnect both from AC power for half a minute, the connect the modem and then the router a minute later). I'm assuming you don't shut down the system by pressing the power button as a normal practice, correct?

Nope, I always shut down through the start menu.

Ok i reset them the way you asked.  it still doesn't detect a wireless network :(
