I have a Belkin F5D8230-4 wireless router. My son was trying to wirelessly connect his xbox and mucked about with some settings.
I now cannot connect to the homepage 192.168.2.1 of the router. I still have internet access on the PC that is connected to the router by a network cable. I can't get internet acccess with a wireless laptop. Running Vista 32bit

1. User Manual. You're going to need the "user manual". You may either download it from here (http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/224/kw/F5D8230-4/p/312%2C316%2C317/r_id/166) or see if it's on a CD that may have come with the router.
2. Restoring Factory Defaults. If you restore the router to factory defaults, you should be able to access it at the default address "192.168.2.1". But then you'll need to reconfigure it to meet your network requirements.
See page 17 of the User Manual.
8. Reset Button (Located on bottom of Router). The "Reset" button is used in rare cases when the Router may function improperly. Resetting the Router will restore the Router's normal operation while maintaining the programmed settings. You can also restore the factory default settings by using the "Reset" button. Use the restore option in instances where you may have forgotten your custom password.
(a) Resetting the Router. Push and release the "Reset" button. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. When the lights stop blinking, the reset is complete.
(b) Restoring the Factory Defaults. Press and hold the "Reset" button for at least 10 seconds then release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. When the lights stop blinking, the reset is complete.

I tried the reset already - no joy.

I just spotted this in Kaspersky
20/12/2009 22:07:56 http://search.alot.com/error?q=http%3A//192.168.2.1/&pr=errs&null=&code=connectionFailure&src_id=11170&client_id=f80892687a91b8aaea1bfc57&camp_id=427&install_time=2009-09-25T17:51:20Z&tb_version=2.3.0%28F%29 Firefox Processing error: Trojan-Spy.HTML.Fraud.gen
I assume that the address is being bolcked.

Somewhat different reset instructions: Restoring a Belkin router to the factory default state. (#13631) (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/belkin/4.0_Troubleshooting#13631).

Now fixed using the amended reset settings for the router.
Many thanks for your help. :D :D
