Title: "application failed to initialize" error. Office,documents,etc. won't open. Help

My Student Office, saved documents, etc.,will not open. I get an error message 000008, "application failed to initialize". I thought something was wrong with my Office software, so tried to delete and reinstall. Software  CD will not install. Alert message said my computer was seriously infected, so I bought program and ran it. It said it deleted the infected programs, but I still get the same error message. Help!!!
