Title: Can't get dual monitors working in Vista.
Post by: cbs11 on February 09, 2010, 07:24:04 PM
Hello all,

I'm having a hard time trying to set up two monitors in vista ultimate. I have an asus en6200tc nvidia video card which is dual head. One port is a dvi-d dual link and the other is a vga. Both monitors I have are crt, so I bought a dvi-d to vga adapter.

I go through the whole process. I shutdown the pc, I hook up both monitors, once I reboot I go into display settings, I then click on box 2 and check "extend the desktop on this monitor" and the second monitor won't work.

I tried just using one crt with the adapter in the dvi-d port and the monitor wouldn't work when I rebooted. So then I thought it was a problem with the adapter. But when I set up both again and then went into the nvidia control panel both monitors were detected but the second still wouldn't work.

If anyone could help me sort this out it would be greatly appreciated.

Btw, I tested the second monitor on it's own and is working fine.
