How much memory?

My recommendation would be:

if you have less then 128MB, go with windows 95, 98, or 98SE-

if you have 128MB or More, use windows 2000.

with 256MB or more you might be alright running windows XP, too. Depending on the graphics adapter you might need to disable Luna for best performance.

And you felt a poll was the best way to get your answer?

I'm feeling a bit daft, so I think I'll vote for taft, hope he doesn't give us the shaft, and leave us in a raft.

Now whose up for a draught?

*censored*, I'd just go for 2000 anyway, doesn't get much better than that, but I'd recommend 98 over 95 ANYDAY.

You should try to use Windows XP. If not use Windows 2000.

No matter what hardware, anything under 400Mhz will handle Windows 2000. I once had a 233Mhz computer, 128MB RAM, and a 10GB Hard disk, and Intel 82810 graphics 8MB, ran Windows 2000 without a hitch. Only problem is that it's quite "Boring"

If it can't run 98 then there's not much you can do other than install 95.
