urgent help needed
« on: March 24, 2010, 02:17:00 AM »
I changed the graphical settings of my computer by increasing the resolution.
Since then I am unable to start my windows normally as an error occurs saying that I am using high frequency range and after 20 sec. my monitor closes(blank screen)with power still there in the monitor.
I am able to open Safe Mode, from where I tried restoration but restoration cannot get completed.
Now , how can I change the screen resolution setting from safe mode because on right clicking on desktop graphical properties are not available in safe mode
Plzzz. help urgently.

Try booting to "Enable VGA mode" from the Windows Advanced Options menu.  From there reset display properties to desired values and reboot to "Normal" mode.

Use the <F8> function key during system startup to access the Windows Advanced Options Menu.  Tap the <F8> key once or twice per second as you startup the computer (or immediately after POST completes and screen flashes black prior to displaying Windows XP logo with its processing bar display).

From the Windows Advanced Options menu, use the up/down arrow keys to select "Enable VGA mode" and press <Enter> key.
