my asus netbook won't turn on

Can someone please help me figure this out?  I have a asus netbook, and when I turn it on, a screen comes up that says it wasnt shut down right, and gives me options to start in safe mode, but before I can choose an option the computer just shuts off.  What should I do?

Hi,
    Before doing anything else, please follow the below mentioned steps:

1). Turn on your computer and press F8.
2). You get a list of boot options.
3). Please select "Last Good Configuration" and hit enter.
4). Let your machine restart and run in normal mode.

I would also like to know is it a Desktop or Laptop?

It's a netbook as stated...
Last known good config will only work once.
