Okay, here are kubuntu instructions:
1. Go to Kmenu > Applications > System and click Software Management.
2. On the left hand bar click Settings and then Edit Software Sources. (shown in picture 1)
3. Then on the top bar click Third Party Software. Then click Add and paste this code into the box that it brings up  and click Add. (shown in picture 2)
Code: [Select]
ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa4. Click the close button and let it reload.  (shown in picture 3)
5. then click Software Management from the sidebar
6. now search wine and you should see it. choose the main one that says wine, don't choose wine-dev or wine-gecko.  (shown in picture 4)
7. click the add button (grey cross)
8. click apply, it should then install wine

Ubuntu instructions:

1. go to System > Administration > Software Sources
2. Click the Third-Party Software at the top
3. Click the Add button, and enter the code below
Code: [Select]
ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa4. Then click the close button and let it refresh if it wants. Close Software sources
5. Now open Synaptic Package Manager
6. Search wine and it should find it (wine) now.
7. Mark it for installation and click apply
It should now install.

When it installs let me know and I'll tell you about PlayOnLinux.
