    New Hard Drive?
    « on: May 24, 2010, 07:05:42 AM »
    Hi,

    I have this as a motherboard: http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19240

I was simply wondering if I have a port to add another hard drive. Currently, only one is installed. I opened up the computer but can't figure out where would the extra SATA port be...

    Thanks for your help

Ok, that's what I wanted to confirm but just weren't sure because one of the SATA slot is red and the other ones are red.

Thanks for the quick reply, patio! :)

So, I got a 250 GB hard drive from Western Digital. I unplugged the computer, plugged it in (the 1TB HDD I have with everything on it is still connected to SATA1) into the SATA 4 port and rebooted the computer.

When I go to My Computer, I can still see my 1 TB HDD but not the other one. I went to Disk Management and I can see my 2 HDDs there. However, my 1 TB one is listed as Healthy and the new one as Unallocated. Do I have to right click and select New Partition?

If so, what do I chose from the New Partition options for my computer to detect it? (I just need to transfer some music and movies onto the newer HDD)

        Thank you very much!

Ignore sections dealing with a "used" HDD and good luck, truenorth
