Logging On to the Internet Problem(s)
« on: June 15, 2004, 05:25:29 PM »
:'(

Hey, I have this recent problem with my internet. I use Peoplepc dialer as my server and never had any problems with it before... Till Now :-/ When logging on, I hear the dial tones and if you were to pick up the phone, you hear the tones there also, normal right! What's not normal is that when trying to surf or im someone an message appears;
"This Page Cannot be Displayed... cannot find server..."
It turns out that an virus might of gotton into the computer and screwed it  up. An message by an aol admistrator- was the core to the problem. Nothing else seems to be bothered except an error message appears saying that "Ccapp" has done an illeagel action and must be shut down! Please help and if you do, Thanks alot because I need it to do homework!!!

P.S. We have a Norton Virus scanner and cannot pick up the virus and delete it!! :o

    craze......Perhaps you could clarify.......

    "This Page Cannot be Displayed... cannot find server..."

    What are you telling us .....that you have a virus? or you cant get online .........or both ?
    What operating system are you using and is your Norton AV current with the latest updates ?

    If you are getting this error, you probably have the newest Gaobot(aka Agobot) virus that disables NAV and blocks your access to security sites (including Symantec).

    W32.Gaobot.AFC, W32.Gaobot.AFJ and W32.Gaobot.AFW
    Go to .... http://forum.gladiator-antivirus.com/index.php?showtopic=14059
    and read .....it will tell you how to remove .

    hope this helps

    If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.
