partial hijacking of homepage

I keep getting my "blank" homepage hijacked by some screwy "seach assistant" cover page. It also makes it impossible to check my Yahoo account. Every time I run Spybot I get the same 2 registry key items showing up: "CoolWWWsearch.Leftovers" and "EffectiveBandToolbar" When I have Spybot deal with them the problem goes away for a little while, but returns shortly.

I also keep getting pop-ups, some of which turn into regular ads.  (Flowers, *censored* pills, etc.)


Any suggestions?

Download and run Microsoft's AntiSpyware.  It is excellent for removing the Adware that causes the Pop-ups.  It also has "Browser Restore" under advanced options which should take care of the hi-jacking.
