I've just been reading the w2k help files.
Are you just running a single HDD?
"The following items are not stored in the Recycle Bin and cannot be restored:
      Items deleted from network locations.
Items deleted from removable media (such as 3.5-inch disks).
Items that are larger than the storage capacity of the Recycle Bin."

You mean a single hard drive?  I have 2.  I increased the recycle bin capicity to 20% which is 3.99 GB in this case.

Silly question but have you emptied the recycle bin then tried to delete a file then to see if it lands back in there?

Have you tried deleting from both drives to see if they both don't go to the bin. Make more files! LOL

Deleted files from both drives do not appear int he bin.  Undo delete returns them to their places.

Take a quick read & make sure you have the properties setup properly.

Take a look in C:\RECYCLER and see if you can see them in there.

I can see them now,  Configuring the recycle bin independantly did the trick.  Still don't understand why that happened though.
