trying to get rid of trojan fakespypro
« on: June 26, 2010, 06:43:15 PM »
I have been infected with a trojan fakespypro masked as AV Suite.  I am getting annoying pop-ups telling me I have infections.  It changed IE so it won't work for me but then it will open by itself to some porn site. It blocked microsoft essentials so I was unable to get it to run.  I logged off of my account and logged in as a different user where I was able to access the internet and run my antivirus program.  After removing the virus I reboot my computer and there it is back!
So far I have followed the instructions on the 'read this first' post.  I downloaded and ran all programs.  I am having trouble with hijackthis.  When I right click on the icon it does not give me the option to run as administrator. (I am running Vista)  I also could not locate log files on superantispyware after running it.  ???
What do you need me to do now?  Thank you sincerely for any help that you can offer.
