    Freeze/BSOD 0x00000116 Windows Vista
    « on: July 29, 2010, 07:07:31 PM »
    Hello,

Oh before I begin, I'm not great with computers so please bare with me.

Since last week, my computer has been getting bsods, freeze ups, and sometimes the screen goes black and turns back normal. ALL BSODS AND FREEZE UPS APPEAR AT RANDOM TIMES. However, most of the time it appears when I play games.

    My computer stats are..
    HP Pavillion a6452f -- Desktop
    Windows Vista 32bit
    NVIDIA Geforce 8500 GT
    Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
    RAM- 3GB

I have spoken with some people in the chatroom and they told me to update drivers and such. Updating drivers didn't work.

Can anyone please help me with my problem???

      Here's the normal set.
Oh and I had different temperatures before, but I got another BSoD.
Before the BSoD the cores were 46C approx. , GPU 80 and temp1-3 stayed mainly the same

      Results after the BSoD
      GPU-77C
      Temp1-45C
      Temp2-46C
      Temp3-49C
      Core0-51C
      Core1-51C
      Core2-51C
      Core3-51C

Max. temp. for your processor is listed at 60.3C, so you're on a warmer side.

      Download BlueScreenView
      No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Triple check your vid card drivers and make sure they are the proper ones...then re-install them and re-boot...

NOTE They should come from the nVidia website...not thru Windows Update.

Then re-install your MBoard chipset drivers as that board may have an nVidia chipset as well...those drivers will be on the Driver CD that came with the machine or available at the HP website...

Where did you downloaded nVidia driver from?
            Link, please.
Did you uninstall current driver first?
What's the computer brand and model?

I have tried without and with uninstalling the current drivers first.

Can you re-run BlueScreenView to see, if you're getting same kind of errors?
