Anyone else with problems loading www.coupons.com site?
« on: August 24, 2010, 05:36:49 PM »
Semi-newbie here. Searched the forums already looking for anyone else who might have posted this question, but to no avail....

Trying to view and use www.coupons.com site, but my computer just keeps getting stuck in a loop and won't load the site. I can hear a pair of clicks as if it's WANTING to load the page, but nothing changes on the screen, and pauses, then loops back to the pair of audible clicks again. Repeats and rinses endlessly until I give up and hit the "back" button or close the tab/window.

HP Pavilion a730n, running XP Home Edition v 5.1, SP2.
Tried opening the site using IE 8.0.6001.18702, Firefox v3.5.7 and Maxthon 2.5.3.80. Same issue with all three browsers, so for now ruling out browser settings since all three replicate the same issue.

Security software is the CA Internet Security Suite (Anti-Spam, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, and Firewall).

Looking for ideas for what settings I should try messing around with.

Sidebar : I've noticed recently that some sites I visit (using IE8.0) flag that my cookies are not enabled and carry on to describe how to enable them. When I follow these pretty much identical instructions to the tee, I still get the same messages about the cookies not being enabled. Steps seem simple enough to follow, and still I can't seem to get cookies to be enabled. (Tools--> Internet Options -->Privacy tab --> Set level to "Medium". Still no difference even when I set the level at "Low" or "Accept all cookies". Can't think of a particular site off the top of my head that this happened with lately, but this may be a clue in what might be causing the coupons.com page loading issue.

FYI, the default URL that comes up when I just type in the basic site address (www.coupons.com)  is "http://print.coupons.com/couponweb/Index.aspx?pid=13306&zid=iq37&nid=10" if this helps any.....

Any ideas appreciated, TIA. Cheers,
Mike W (Tampa)

You have 3 browsers..., different homepage most likely, probably. Cannot access that only website...? Have tried opening website how many times? It may be that the website is in request time-out. Try diverting by opening it in google by typing coupon.com or make it your homepage in one of your browsers. If everything else fails, it may be a malware issue. Post running process to see if you are not infected download HijackThis.msi and post. To understand more go to  http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html and a Malware specialist/s will be able to help you.

I don't have a redirect loop issue, the webpage displays properly:
